Dorm Packing List: Don't Over Do It!

Less is more! Dorm rooms are small, storage space is limited, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with clutter if you aren’t smart about what you take. Bring the essentials to get settled, then purchase anything bulky or specific to your space once you arrive. Before you shop, find out what’s provided (desk lamp, microwave, fridge, etc.) what’s prohibited (candles, space heaters, certain string lights, etc.), and check your bed size (most are Twin XL). Coordinate large or shared items with your roommate to avoid duplicates. This list will help you cover the basics without overstuffing your room so you can focus on making the space your own:
